This Yamaha U1, for decades the world’s best-selling piano model, defies its 36-year age with practically perfect cosmetic condition and exceptionally low wear to the hammers and mechanical components. We’ve addressed some minor friction issues and restored the regulation and voicing to like-new condition to ensure optimal performance for years to come.

This glossy black instrument features the pleasantly firm touch weight characteristic of quality Yamaha uprights—an advantage for students as it prepares them to play confidently on a variety of pianos. We’ve voiced the piano to have some sweetness at low dynamic levels, and the tone becomes more rich at higher dynamics. As a domestic market instrument, this U1E carries none of the controversy associated with “grey market” pianos.
