A recent model, Steinway-designed piano.

Essex is Steinway’s entry-level brand, built by Pearl River. The core elements of this design (a flexible soundboard, lower string tension, and softer hammers) impart a warmth to the tone that is lacking in many otherwise similar Asian pianos.  Recent production from Pearl River is very high quality, and we’re delighted to be able to offer this piano for sale.

Among our current vertical pianos offerings, this piano is exceptional for its warm, rich tone.  Its action is medium and very expressive.  Because it is so new, there is exceptionally little wear.  The finish is in excellent condition.

This piano is suitable for students of all levels, as well as institutional uses such as choir rooms. (Larger pianos would be preferred for performance spaces.)
